🌹People of Earth ☮

Ever caught yourself sizing someone up by their zip code rather than their story? 😒 We often slap labels on people based on their quiet corners or loud laughs. That’s the dispositional ticket – thinking folks act the way they do because that’s the ‘real’ them. 😢 But hey, wake up! The scene sets the stage; it’s not just about the actor.

Dig this: we’re quick to box people as dispositional or situational. Dispositional? That’s pinning everything on personality like it’s some eternal script. 😜 Situational? That’s giving a nod to the surroundings, the whole set-up playing its part. 😎

Here’s the kicker: society’s got a heavy hand on the dispositional throttle. And that’s where we goof big time. The fundamental attribution error? That’s when we chalk up someone’s stumble to their character, totally missing that maybe, just maybe, they’re caught in a bad scene. 😬

Then there’s the correspondence bias. That’s seeing Mr. Nice Guy and thinking he’s the saint in sneakers, even if he’s just schmoozing for a favor. 😇

Trapped by our own traits? That narrative gets old fast. Clocking that the setting’s got skin in the game too? That’s where we start rewriting the rules. 💪

Feeling pumped and in the driver’s seat, we’re less likely to see folks as foes. We’re all about bridges, not barriers, clued in that everyone’s dance moves are swayed by the music around them.

And here’s where the real magic happens – empowerment and inclusion. When people feel they’re part of the gig, not just ticket holders, they’re ready to rock the boat, speak up, and spin the change. Leave ’em out, and you’re just fueling the same old sad song of inequality.

So, what’s the real deal? If we’re serious about remixing this world tune, we need to pull up more chairs and amp up the mic. Everyone’s got a verse to add. ✊🌍

The hope the positivity is here is human beings. We are very, very good at holding complexity and holding uncertainty. The problem is we’re very good at doing it when it’s unconscious.

This exploration will take us through various definitions and interpretations as we navigate the landscapes of introspection, emergent reflection, and the transformative power of solitude.

When you’re growing up in a small town
You know you’ll grow down in a small town
There is only one good use for a small town
You hate it and you’ll know you have to leave

There is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so. – Shakespeare

Once you can define those commonalities (and there are a lot more if we take the time to reflect), you realize there is much more out there that binds us together.

Наш город

In an era marked by deepening divides and escalating tensions, 🌍 exploring the roots of our polarized world becomes imperative. Grounded in personal experiences and artistic reinterpretation, we delve into the complex process of demonization—a phenomenon where others are viewed as fundamentally different and threatening. My journey through Eastern Europe in the 1980s, amidst the Cold War’s shadow, revealed a reality of shared human experiences transcending political boundaries. Reimagining Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town” in a small Russian town, I aimed to capture life’s universality, highlighting commonalities across divides. We examine the dangers of polarization, emphasizing the importance of embracing our shared humanity to dismantle barriers and pave the way for unity and compassion. 🌟🤝

🤬 Censor This!🖕

In times of self-censorship🤐, where societal constraints and fear of backlash often stifle genuine discourse, the strategy of the empty poster 🪧 serves as a powerful tool to highlight restrictions on freedom of speech. 💬 💥By presenting a blank canvas, it draws attention to the suffocating effects of self-censorship and the suppression of diverse voices. 🗣️📢 The empty poster stands as a silent yet powerful statement that our silence speaks volumes, reminding society of the unspoken thoughts, 🗭 unexplored ideas 💡🤔, and creativity suppressed by the current climate 🖌️🎨 . As a symbol of unspoken truths and suppressed dissent, the empty poster underscores the urgency to address self-censorship and the need for greater freedom of expression ⛓️‍💥 💪 in our contemporary social and political landscape. 🗣️🚫✋

The installation took place on November 21st in Vienna across from the presidential residency. 🗓️🏛️

Reflections on My Artistic Journey: 45 Years of Graphics and Paintings

Over the last 45 years, my art has been a reflection of my thoughts, feelings and influences. The journey began with graphics in the 1970s, where I explored the minimalism and social changes of the era. As years passed, my focus shifted towards paintings and developing my own style.
